EKOPOLIS FEST – THE CHALLENGE
OF GLOBAL PROPORTIONS This unique manifestation, which already become tradition, held under patronage of City of Nis, City Municipality of Palilula and support of GOETHE INSTITUTE, Public Museum in Belgrade and Green of Serbia. Art Director of the review, Dragan Vidojkovic highlighted that will on 8th EKOPOLIS fest in Nis, from 4th to 10th June be shown 31 film from 14 countries: Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Mexico, China, Austria, Greece, Luxemburg, Australia and Serbia. Climate changes are challenge of global proportions that we must find an answer, or as individuals, or as association – highlights Michel Grief in catalog of film cycle of Goethe Institute “Climate, Culture, Changes”, with which is opened this year Review. With six feature-length and seven short – length films this ecological cycle draws a connection from consequence to possible solutions, from individual to society, from local to global. It becomes clear that problems across the world do not suffer “more same” condition. However, films also shows and that changes offers unimagined possibilities and space when numerous individual activities with it strength of convincing gets on cultural relevance and when creates frame of values and aware which normatively supports sustainable of action. In the middle of attention of films is social dimension of climate changes: man as causer, as the one who suffers, but and as a key of solution. Content of the films of this years EKOpolis fest characterizing high science quality but and attractive access to the cultural heritage. Films meet us with significant and precious worlds monuments of the culture and nature, important discoveries, outstanding achievements, past from different period of civilization. From Monday June 6th , projections of films from Review is continued in the gallery of EUROPEAN CORNER. Projections are from 5pm, entrance is free of charge, and all films are titled on Serbian language. Organizer of “EKOPOLIS fest” is media network EKOPOLIS which is regular promoter of this unique review since 2003rd, when in cooperation with Goethe Institute, Italian Institute for Culture, French Cultural Center in Belgrade, Public Museum, Institute for Nature Protection, Tourism Organization, Home of Youth, first time was organized this manifestation. Review does not have competitive character and from beginning is imagined as review of the newest achievements in production of documentary film. City of Nis is one of rare cities in the region which cultural public has possibility to meet with newest film achievements from area of ecology and sustainable development, archeology, tourism and related scientific disciplines. |
